Are these really cassette tapes?
No. We sell USB memory sticks that looks like cassette tapes. We grew up listening to ‘books on tape’ when we were children and wanted to recreate that feeling for the modern age. Audiobooks are brilliant but there is just something special about having a physical object in your hands.
Where the magnetic tape would usually be on a cassette tape you will find a USB stick. This can be used to play the audiobook directly on an audio system with a USB input or you can copy the audiobook to your computer and sync it to any audio device you have.
Do not put our USB cassette tapes in a cassette drive. It will break the cassette drive and we cannot be held liable for any damage.
Can I reuse the USB stick?
Yes. We do not lock the USB sticks so you are free to add to or remove the content from the USB sticks. Where possible we offer the audiobook you purchased as a digital download too. So if you remove the audiobook from the USB stick without backing it up first you can always download it again from our site.
If this is not the case, we will let you know.
How much data do the USB sticks hold?
We use 4GB USB sticks as we have found these give the best compromise between size and price.
What software do I need to have to be able to listen to the audiobooks?
Any audio playback software on your computer should be able to play the MP3 and WAV files without problem. If you have selected the M4B file you will need more comprehensive audio software such as iTunes to be able to play it.
Standard MP3 files are also playable on many standalone audio systems such as car entertainment systems and sound systems if they have a USB input. Just plug in the USB stick and select the USB input on your device.
How long will shipping take?
We ship all of our products through the UK’s Royal Mail service. For UK sales it should take 2 – 3 days for the USB tape to reach you. For overseas deliveries it can take up to 3 weeks depending on where in the world we are shipping to. We will endeavour to keep you up to date with deliveries.
What is the difference between the file types?
We know that people listen to their audio in very different ways. Some people listen in the car, some on standard headphones and some relax in a leather chair with a fine glass of whiskey while listening on a high-end sound system.
Because of this some people have a preference for the format in which the audio is delivered.
With this in mind sometimes we offer the choice of file types. MP3s are standard music files that can be played by any computer. M4B files are ‘official’ audiobook files that are recognised by programs such as iTunes. They automatically file themselves as an audiobook and remember your playback position. WAV files are raw high-quality audio.
Can I be one of your limited edition artists?
We are always on the look out for new artists to work with. If you think you would make a good addition to our artwork collection, get in touch with us.
I’m an audiobook publisher, how do I get my audiobooks on your site?
Take a look at our Distribution page where you will find more information about how we work with publishers.
I have the audio rights to some books but no audiobooks, can we still work together?
Yes. However we will need to convert your books to audiobook form before they can be distributed through our site. We work closely with an audiobook production company and have negotiated special rates with them. Get in contact with us and we will put you in touch.
